Converted this small little coat closet that barely got used, and was annoying to open up, into an enlarged cased opening that has easy access and lots of storage. Started by removing the door jamb and re-framing the opening as big as possible. Re-insulated, installed framing for bench, and re-sheetrocked. Installed a custom made shelving unit to accommodate 3 baskets for storage, as well as a full shelf on top. Installed bead board, hooks for coats, and last but not least, a stained birch plywood bench. Finished the whole project off by installing gray wood look tile flooring and large decorative trim to the opening.
